My Struggle from Learning Netsuite to Jr Netsuite Functional Consultant : Syed Aziz

Hello Every one,
Since many days I was waiting for first Success story to share on my blog and today I am very happy to share one.

Syed Aziz Ahmad, Netsuite Guru Reader and My linkedin Friend, got selected as Jr. Functional Consultant.
Learner to Jr. Netsuite Functional Consultant

I am going to write what Syed described me in his words (with little changes 😄 )

"I am Syed Aziz Ahmad, I am going to describe how I got a job as Netsuite Functional Consultant and what challenges I faced.
I have over all 5.5 years of Experience and 1.6 years of Netsuite Functional Consultant.
I joined Genpact as Process Developer for O2C Account Receivable as End User and we were working on Netsuite ERP.
It took a while for me to understand What is Netsuite, and Why Netsuite.Seeing positiveness, I started thinking to make a career in Netsuite.
I started searching for Training and found Online Training classes. The trainer was having 4 years of Experience as Techno Functional.
I was working in US Shifts from 6PM to 3AM . Around 4:30 AM I used to reach home, and after a short sleep I used to wake up at 8AM to drop my daughter to school. Then 9AM to 10:30 AM my Netsuite training was scheduled, and After my training I used to sleep again for 2 hours.
At 12:30 PM I have to wake up to pick my daughter from school. My wife was also working so I have to take care of my daughter.
While preparing food for my daughter I used to listen and practice Netsuite classes for 2 months. It was only 4-5 hours sleep until course was not completed."

My First Project and Appreciation:
"I was able to do my first project "Updating Notes through CSV Uploads" for which I was praised with special bonus and
Lean Certificate from my company for reducing Manual work."

Initial Success and Opportunity:
"Seeing first project, I got opportunity to work with clients as Netsuite Functional Consultant and then I completed 2 more projects
on workflow approvals. My client started giving me requirements to complete.I thought of looking for new challenges and new learning's
like implementations, integration etc. However I did not get chance to learn more so I decided to start looking for change. Here I faced many difficulties."

My Real Struggle:
"I kept on learning more and started giving interviews,
Due to lack of strong experience I was not able to clear interviews
however I never gave up and started practice more and more.
When ever I got time I practiced Netsuite.
My family started telling me that Netsuite is your second wife.
I kept of searching jobs and updated my profile on LinkedIn.
In every interview only question which stopped me from getting selected is "Have you worked on Any Implementation projects?".
Rejection after rejection made me more strong. Some people get chance to learn Netsuite as fresher from companies, it is their luck.
During this time some people helped me and supported me , especially "Abhishek Tripathi" who write blog "Netsuite Guru" and friend on
linked in and Mohd. Ayaz who lead operation lead in talent 2 connect , also friend of mine on LinkedIn."

My Big Day:
"After managing 2-3 interviews calls daily, managing hectic office time , practicing more on Netsuite and taking care of my daughter Finally one Day I got chance to prove my self.
I would like to thank "Ajinkya Lavate" and "Harsh Vardhan" who believed in me and gave me an opportunity to explore, learn and to work with them.LinkedIn was very helpful in finding job."

"Struggle is not over yet, I have to move to Pune from Hyderabad and my family will join me later.
Until I am not settled in Pune I will be visiting my family every weekend. For short time my family especially my daughter will miss me a lot.
I hope I will do my best in my new company and will learn, explore more."

Thanks
Syed Aziz
