Netsuite Tutorial: How to set Date Format , First day and all other format in Netsuite using Preference?

Hi All,

In Last blog I wrote about how to set Nick Name , Signature etc using Preference.
In This blog I am writing about a very interesting and important topic Setting Format and Localization.

We often use Mobile Number , Date , time , Month , Days of Month , Number Format , CSV column delimiter etc but do you know we can update preference and use as we need .

First Topic : Localization-:

Search Sorting: We can set Search result sorting for Alphabet , wither use English US or other language . For Example A, then B then C ... Z

Time Zone : Time zone contains all the time zone . This Greyed out here because time zone is based on Company Preference . We can not change this.
First Day of Week: We can use this option and set any day as first day of week, this effect should come in calendar also.

Second Topic: Formatting -:

Date Format: There are plenty of option Netsuite is providing for Date Format, we can choose any one from list of all options.

Long Date Format: how long dates, meaning dates with the month name spelled out, should appear and be entered in account.

Time Format: Choose how time should appear and be entered in your account.

Number Format:  Choose the number format for thousands separator and decimals.

Negative Number Format: choose if you want to use -100 or (100) as negative.

Phone Number Format : Choose how 10 digit phone numbers should appear and be entered. There are 4 option to choose . Select any one of them.

Auto Place Decimal: check this option if you want to make a a number into decimal, it will make 495 into 4.95 , I personally believe you should keep it uncheck ;)

CSV column delimiter: Select the symbol to be used as a column separator in the CSV data you import. There are 5 options to choose .Comma is best of all.

CSV decimal delimiter: Select the symbol to be used as a decimal mark in the CSV data you import. There are 2 options one is period another is comma, if you use CSV Column Delimiter as Comma then use Period here. using this option will not change 1,000 into 1 and 000 in CSV.

Please let me know of you have any question. Share if you like it .

Thanks
Abhi
