How credit limit of parent Customer will share by child customers in Netsuite?

Hi All,

"Kp Chow" asked this question and I somehow find the solution,
So I thought it will be best if I can share on my blog so that anyone can see this if needed.

Question:  Are user able to set the credit limit to be shared within the customers' group instead of setting individual credit limit?

Answer:
Go to List then Relationships then Customers then Edit Parent Customer and go to Credit Limit.Assign credit limit to him.

Keep child credit limit as blank.
 Now go to
SetUp -> Company -> Enable Features -> Accounting Tab -> Consolidated Payment = true

Now Go to
setup -> Accounting -> Accounting Preferences -> Under General Tab -> Account Receivable -> Customer Credit Limit Handling
Choose you option, there are 3 options
1. warn only,
2. Ignore,
3. Enforce Holds.
You can select as per your need.

This means every time you create a transaction and the customer exceeded the credit limit assigned to the parent then a warning message will prompt telling you that the customer has already reached the maximum credit limit assigned.
I hope this will help, let me know if you face any issue.

Thanks
Abhi

  1. Thanks for this info, really helpful. Will this work even when the sub customer belongs to a different country?
Meaning, if parent is in UK and Subcustomer is in Netherlands different currency, and I set credit limit on parent, will Netsuite automatically calculate if the credit limit is reached regardless of the currency?

    thanks
