What Netsuite developer can see in Netsuite Release 2018.1.0 ?
Hi All,
As you all know new release is on the way i.e Release 2018.1.0 , so I am going to mention important points from developer points of view. If you have any question , please comment below.
1. Deposit Record Now Supports SuiteScript 2.0:
Now we can write script on Deposit record also using Suite Script 2.0.
2. Now you can share multiple Subsidiaries with Customer or Sub Customer.:
Previously only 1 subsidiary was allowed for each customer and sub customer.
3. Old Style Form URLs are now Depreciated:
New URls are more secure, and if user will click on old URLs they will see
"invalid Page Parameter Error".Please update all you URLs to new style of you hard coded any.
4. New Approval Portlet for Manager Approval :
Netsuite updated Portlet where Approvers and Managers can approve or reject time
of requests, Purchase requests and expense report depending on which features are enabled.
5. Employees can Update Banking information from Employee Center:
If "Employees can Edit Banking information" checkbox is checked on preference
(Setup > Payroll >Set up Payroll) then employees can update information on Edit Profile Page.
Please note this will only work if you use Netsuite Payroll module to pay employee.
6. Employees can see News related to Company:
Netsuite introduce new News Item Record and Company News Portlet .
This Portlet Appears on Employee Center Role and They can see 5 most recent news.
Users which have News Items Access can enter News, by default CPO and HR Generalist
have this News Item record access. SuitePeople Module might be required.
7. Inventory Status is added to Inventory Item Record:
Netsuite added Inventory Status record to add more definition to inventory record, like Damaged
can be added to damage Item, Pending Inspection Can be added where quality Control inspection
is pending.
8. Supply Chain Control Tower :
The Supply Chain Control Tower feature enables you to analyze and simulate
inventory supply and demand across your supply chain. This helps identify when
supply is not in line with demand or planned levels.
9. Cross-Subsidiary Fulfillment :
Orders are no longer limited to being fulfilled from locations within the originating subsidiary.
Now Sales Order can be fulfilled from locations across different subsidiaries.
10. Duplicate Bin Numbers are allowed:
Previously if you create Bin Number with same number for different location then saving
was not allowed but with new release Duplicate Bin Numbers are allowed.
11. Netsuite Sandbox's Mobile Access:
Now user can access Netsuite Sandbox through mobile also.
12. Multi-Language Support for Electronic Bank Payments
13. Never Empty is introduced: On the Customize Form page, you can specify that an entry
is required in a sublist by checking the Never Empty box for that sublist.
(only for scripted record as sublist)
14. Workflow can work on Item Sublist now:
you can execute actions on Items sublist lines, as part of workflows for transaction
records with Sublist Action Groups. A Sublist Action Group is a group of actions
assigned to a workflow state that are to be executed on each line of the Items sublist.
15. Workflow Instances and History can be disabled:
If disabled , workflow will not keep instances and history in database after workflow
execution complete or cancelled.
16. Additional Processor for Netsuite Schedule Script:
Accounts without a SuiteCloud Plus license now have access to one additional
complimentary processor. Previously, these accounts had access to one processor. So if you
have 5 SuiteCloud Plus license you will have access to 30 processor and will increase till 50.
Maximum limit is 50 processor.
17. Suite Script 2.0 is supported on Available with login Suitelets and forms also.
18. With SuiteScript 2.0 , you can access client's IP address also.
