How Search Synonyms can help you Netsuite's Ecommerce Website ?

Today we are going to read about how Search Synonyms help your eCommerce website and help user to find all items using keywords.

Example:
You have an online shop where you are selling groceries items. When user come to your website and want to search for "soap" , it should show all type of soaps which has soap in name.
You can add , lets Say , dove as soap by adding soap under search synonyms. If user search for soap , all items where soap is under Search Synonyms will also come in result. If user search for dove then only dove will come in result. This is called One Way Synonyms.

Lets say if you are selling sweets and candy , and you want to show candy also in result when someone search for sweet, here you have to define sweet and candy both in Search Synonyms. This is called Group Synonyms.

It is not good habit to use Group Synonyms for all items, only use if required. Wrong results on website can effect interest of customer while making purchase or may be user leave and make purchase on another eCommerce website.
