Netsuite Letter Template

Hi All,

In this post we are going to discuss about Letter Template.
Netsuite's Letter Templates are Microsoft Word Documents. In this document, user can add Netsuite fields
using mail merge operations. After merging upload these to file cabinet and create letter template. These
letters can be  mail to people who you do business.


These merge fields are actually CRMSDK** Tags which refers to specific field's information. 

How to create Letter Template:
Step1: Go to Documents > Templates > Letter Templates > New

Step 2:  Download the sample data source file. Download file by clicking download link , see image for reference.
Step 3: Open an existing Microsoft Word document.
Step 4: Click Mailings > Start Mail Merge > Letters to begin your mail merge.
Step 5: click Select Recipients > Use an Existing List.
Step 6: Find the sample data source file on your computer. The file name looks like
NetLedgerSampleHeaderFile121.
Step 7: Click the Insert Merge Field list to place tags in your template.
Step 8: Save as .DOC file.
 Step 9: Enter Name (open letter template again)
Step 10: Enter Subject(optional) and upload file.
 Step 11: Save.

Now letter template is ready to use under record. You can specify record while create Letter template also.

** Yes Netsuite still uses CRMSDK Tags, these tags are not scriptable and you can not add join example :
 get data from other related record using join.

      As mentioned, Now letter template is ready to use under record. You can specify record while create Letter template also.
