Netsuite's Bill of Materials

Hi

Bill of materials which also refers as BOM is list of quantities of raw material, assemblies, sub-components and parts which are needed for manufacturing a product.

for example, a bicycle manufacturer that wants to build 1,000 bicycles. A bill of materials for a bicycle will include all the parts that make up the bicycle such as seats, frames, brakes, handlebars, wheels, tires, chains, pedals and cranksets, including the quantities required of each component and their cost.

A well-defined BOM helps companies:

    Plan purchases of raw materials
    Estimate material costs
    Gain inventory control
    Track and plan material requirements
    Maintain accurate records
Ensure supply robustness and reduce waste

BOM can be be defined in 2 method:
1. Single Level BOM
2. Multiple Level BOM

BOM Can be created using 3 ways:
1.Create a new BOM Record
2. Create a BOM from Assembly
3. Copy Existing BOM
